Lemko album

My Grandpa Steve and my Aunt Rose are on the cover of this record album. I wish I could understand it.

Just a stay-at-home

I said awhile ago that I love to do puzzles. Well, I love to do a lot of things. I draw, do needlework and crafts, reading, etc. I've met women who said that if they didn't have a job they wouldn't know what else to do. Their job was it. I knew other women who said they would rather be at work than at home because they weren't happy there. I would work if I had a decent job, one that didn't give me a lot of stress. All of my jobs stressed me out too much, and didn't pay enough. I never had a career, never wanted one, except being a homemaker and stay-at-home mom. I was good at filing, but filing doesn't pay much, and there isn't much need out there. So, I'm enjoying staying at home, being free to do the things I love to do.

Happy Irish Day

Daisy in her Irish outfit

Irish Sayings

May misfortune follow you the rest of your life and never catch up.
May your mornings bring joy and your evenings bring peace.
May your troubles grow less as your blessings increase.
May the blessings of each day be the blessings you need most.
Always remember to forget the troubles that passed away,
but never forget to remember the blessings that come each day.
If you buy what you don't need, you might have to sell what you do.
Better to be sparing at first than at last.
Everyone feels his own wound first.
Questioning is the door of knowledge.
There's nothing so bad that it couldn't be worse.
If God sends you down a stony path, may He give you strong shoes.
Who gossips with you, will gossip of you.
Slow is very fast on an unknown path.
Lie down with dogs and you'll rise with fleas.
May those that love us, love us, and those that don't love us,
may God turn their hearts, and if he doesn't turn their hearts,
may he turn their ankles, so we'll know them by their limping.

Hologram

Yesterday, I tried to turn on my little hologram, but it didn't work. So, I removed the back and found it horribly corroded. I thought it was ruined because the batteries were stuck to the springs. I cleaned it up the best I could, using baking soda water. I put new batteries in and found that it works!

Puzzle books

I love to do puzzles. All kinds of puzzles. I use colored pens for the word seeks. My mom did crossword puzzles. Puzzles are great for relaxing, and for when you are bored and waiting for something, and anytime at all.

Funnies in the Bible part 3

(3) This is my daughter Sharon's favorite funny in the Bible. In I Samuel chapter 5 we are told

1. And the Philistines took the ark of God, and brought it from Ebenezer unto Ashdod.
2. When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon.
3. And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again.
4. And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.
5. Therefore neither the priests of Dagon, nor any that come into Dagon's house, tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod unto this day.

Imagine waking up and finding your almighty god fallen on his face. ROTFL. If he can't take care of himself, how can he take care of anyone else!

Funnies in the Bible part 2

(2) The Hebrews were wandering around in the desert and Deuteronomy chapter 2 says
1 Then we turned, and took our journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red Sea, as the LORD spake unto me: and we compassed mount Seir many days.
2 And the LORD spake unto me, saying,
3 Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward.

Can't you picture them marching round and round the mountain and God has to tell them to stop. You see, they had not obeyed God and God stopped listening to them so they had no direction. They didn't know where to go. They went around in circles.

Birdie plate

I sang this song to my three little children. Shari, my third, found this plate which has the year she was born.

High up in the branches of a leafy apple tree,
Lives a mother birdie, and her little birdies three.
God sends Mr. Wind.
You can hear him softly blow,
As off to sleep, her babies go.

Funnies in the Bible part 1

I have found three funny places in the Bible. At least I think they are funny.

(1) The people were waiting for Moses to come down out of the mount and they said in Exodus 32
2 And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me.
3 And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron.
4 And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
Now this is the funny part.
21 And Moses said unto Aaron, What did this people unto thee, that thou hast brought so great a sin upon them?
22 And Aaron said, Let not the anger of my lord wax hot: thou knowest the people, that they are set on mischief.
24 And I said unto them, Whosoever hath any gold, let them break it off. So they gave it me: then I cast it into the fire, and there came out this calf.
Can you imagine? Aaron is Moses older brother, and they are both old men. Aaron is acting like a child. He threw the gold in and out came this calf. How funny!
